Tax roundtable
Devereux's regular tax round-table discussion takes place on 31 January 2013. The discussions offer a chance to meet members of the Devereux Tax team, who will share their experience of particular areas of tax litigation of current interest.
This discussion will focus on the HMRC's information powers and discovery assessments. Jonathan Fisher QC will host the session and will address:
- What is reasonably required for checking a taxpayer’s position
- Making a discovery
- Carelessly or negligently
- What is reasonably expected to have been aware
- The white box dilemma
