Where are we now? Private client post budget taxation update
In July 2015 George Osborne delivered his seventh budget as Chancellor, and the first purely Conservative budget in 18 years, announcing a multitude of significant measures which will impact on private client advisors and their clients.
Jolyon Maugham QC joined other esteemed tax experts from leading law firms and chambers to discuss how to deal with these changes which undoubtedly will have an effect on the advice given to clients. The conference also covered key changes to the non-dom regime.
In the afternoon, Jolyon discussed ‘Tax Planning and Anti-Avoidance.’ Other topics covered were:
- The taxation of income, profit and gains
- Inheritance tax and trusts
- Taxation of non-doms and non-residents
- Issues for owner managed businesses
- Taxation of pensions
- VAT for private client practitioners
- HMRC enforcement
This one-day event was organised by IBC Conferences and took place at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, London on 21 October 2015.
