Alice Defriend and Aparajita Arya join Devereux as Tenants after Successful Pupillage
Devereux is delighted to announce that Alice Defriend and Aparajita Arya will join Chambers as tenants upon completion of their pupillages on 2nd October 2023.
Throughout the last 12 months, Alice and Aparajita have built their experience across Chambers’ broad range of practice areas including tax, employment, personal injury, and commercial litigation.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Alice worked as a Judicial Assistant in both the Court of Appeal and the High Court. In the Court of Appeal she was the Judicial Assistant to Simler LJ in the 2020/21 legal year, where she assisted on civil appeals in a range of areas including tax, employment and public law. As a Judicial Assistant in the High Court she assisted multiple judges in the King’s Bench Division, predominantly on claims in personal injury, clinical negligence and commercial law.
Aparajita is joining Chambers after having been a Research Assistant in the Commercial and Common Law team at the Law Commission of England and Wales, where she worked on law reform projects concerning smart contracts, digital assets, electronic trade documents, and conflict of laws. She was also previously a Law Tutor (in tort and EU law) at Regent’s Park College, University of Oxford.
Both will accept instructions in all of Chambers' core areas.
All at Devereux warmly welcome both Alice and Aparajita.
