Andrew Burns QC elected as new Head of Chambers
Devereux is pleased to announce the election of Andrew Burns QC as Head of Chambers. Andrew has been a member of Devereux for his whole career, taking Silk in 2015. He is a Crown Court Recorder, a Bencher of Middle Temple and Deputy Chancellor of the Diocese of Guildford. Andrew is recognised as a leading specialist in Employment, Industrial Relations and Insurance, appearing in many leading cases.
Andrew said; “I feel honoured to be taking on the role of Head of Chambers. I follow in the footsteps of some great people from David and Peter Weitzman QC and Stuart Shields QC who were there right at the beginning, through HH Jeffrey Burke and Simler LJ, the great Colin Edelman QC and, of course, my predecessor, Timothy Brennan QC who we thank for his tireless work for Devereux over the last seven years. We have been fortunate to come through the Covid crisis stronger than ever both in terms of our work and our cohesion as colleagues. I look forward to working with Vince Plant, our excellent Chambers Director and Akash Nawbatt QC, the next Chair of our supervision committee in developing Devereux even further in the coming years.”
