Centre for Justice appoints Colin Edelman QC to insurance panel
The Centre for Justice, an adjudication service for business, government and the public, has responded to requests from the insurance industry by unveiling a new panel of experts with insurance sector expertise.
The first panel members include Colin Edelman QC who, together with other panel members, will lead what the organisation says will be a high calibre team of leading industry specialists providing knowledge of insurance law and extensive mediation skills.
Mr Edelman was appointed a QC in 1995 and was authorised to sit as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2008 and has specialised in insurance, reinsurance and professional negligence for over 20 years. He was Chambers UK 2010 ‘Insurance Silk of the Year' and was described by Legal 500 as ‘perhaps the foremost insurance Silk.'
Anthony Hurndall, founder and director of the Centre for Justice said: "I am delighted to welcome these new panel members to Centre for Justice. We have admired their specialist work in the insurance sector for some time and know they will add real gravitas and experience to our work in this field. Our dealings with the insurance industry have revealed a need and desire for a very tailored approach and the new panel means we are excellently prepared to meet the particular challenges faced by insurers.
"We plan to add other insurance panel members to this core team and are in discussion with other leading lights in insurance law and mediation. These will be announced shortly."
