Chris Stone instructed for 2nd time in 3 years in one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases
This week The Lawyer revealed the Top 20 Cases for 2016, recognising the most high-value and talked-about disputes for the upcoming year.
The Construction Industry Vetting Information Group Litigation is highlighted as one of the cases to watch. Chris Stone is the lead junior on the legal team instructed by Macfarlanes to represent a number of construction firms in this group litigation brought by over 500 claimants. Bayo Randle of Devereux is also instructed on this case, along with counsel from One Essex Court and One Brick Court. The 11-week trial of 20 test cases begins in May and will determine a number of issues of fact and law relating to allegations of conspiracy, defamation, breach of confidence, misuse of private information and breach of the Data Protection Act 1998.
This is the second time in three years that Chris has been mentioned in this feature, having also been instructed in one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 cases for 2014.
