Dame Ingrid Simler DBE appointed to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.
Devereux Chambers is absolutely delighted to congratulate our former Head of Chambers, Dame Ingrid Simler DBE, on her forthcoming appointment to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.
Ingrid was a member of Devereux, on the Attorney General’s Civil Panel A and was Junior Counsel to the Inland Revenue (Common Law) in 2002 until she took silk in 2006. She was a Recorder and a Deputy High Court Judge. She was Head of Chambers until her appointment to the High Court in 2013. She excelled in her term as President of the Employment Appeal Tribunal and deservedly became a Lady Justice of the Court of Appeal in 2019. She has been a member of the senior judiciary as Chair of the Judicial Diversity Committee and has been a wonderful role model in everything she has done both in her professional and judicial careers.
Dame Ingrid Simler will take up her appointment as a Justice of the Supreme Court on 14 November.
