Dame Ingrid Simler sworn into The Supreme Court
Today members of Devereux Chambers joined Employment and Tax lawyers and a cross section of senior judiciary at the swearing in of former Head of Chambers, Ingrid Simler, at the Supreme Court.
Lady Simler took the oaths of office before her family and the other members of the Supreme Court before donning her new robes and joining the bench of the highest court in the land.
Lord Reed commented that it was a mark of the esteem in which Lady Simler is held by both the legal profession and the judiciary for the courtrooms to be overflowing with those wanting to attend the ceremony and wish her well. He welcomed the new areas of expertise Lady Simler would bring to the Court as well as her long-standing experience in promoting diversity.
