Devereux appoints a new Head of Clerking Services
Devereux Chambers is pleased to announce that Vince Plant (pictured below) will be appointed as Head of Clerking Services to Chambers with effect from 1 November 2010. Vince is currently Deputy Senior Clerk at Fountain Court. Vince joined Fountain Court in 1988 and is responsible for a team of barristers ranging in seniority from silks to junior members of chambers.
Welcoming his appointment Colin Edelman QC, Head of Devereux Chambers, said “ Vince joins Devereux Chambers to lead, manage and motivate the clerks’ room as Head of Clerking Services, the most senior position in the clerks' room, reporting directly to Beverly Landais, our CEO. Vince will play a vital role by ensuring that Chambers meets its strategic goals and that sustainable business relationships are built with clients. He will ensure the smooth running of the clerks' room, liaise with the marketing team and implement agreed business strategy. Vince will also have a hands-on role in the clerking of members.”
Timothy Dutton QC, Head of Fountain Court, said “Vince has given Fountain Court 22 years of loyal service. It is a great tribute to him that Devereux has appointed him as their senior clerk. He will go with our thanks for his tremendous contribution to Chambers over the years and with very best wishes for his future success”.
Vince’s appointment comes a year after Beverly Landais joined Devereux Chambers as their first ever CEO. Beverly was previously Director of Marketing and Business Development at the London office of Baker & McKenzie LLP.
