Devereux welcomes Stephen Cottrell
Devereux is pleased to welcome new tenant Stephen Cottrell, formerly of Temple Garden Chambers. Stephen was called to the Bar in 1998 and has been in practice for 14 years. He has a busy nationwide practice predominantly comprising personal injury litigation (acting both for claimants and for insurers). He also has extensive experience in costs work, coroners’ inquests and credit hire disputes.
Stephen’s personal injury practice involves acting for seriously injured Claimants and also representing insurers in cases involving allegedly fraudulent claims. His costs work involves regular appearances in the SCCO and county courts on detailed assessments, including solicitor-client assessments, and appeals in relation to costs including disputes involving the CFA Regulations 2000.
Robert Weir QC, a leading silk in Devereux’s Personal Injury Group said: “We are delighted that Stephen has identified Devereux as a set where he can further develop his practice in catastrophic personal injury work. He is a most welcome addition to our team.”
