Robert Glancy QC and Rob Weir QC join PIcARBS as arbitrators
June 2015 saw the official launch of PIcARBS, the Personal Injury claims Arbitration Service, a flexible and cost effective system designed for claims worth over £50,000. The PIcARBS is run under the Arbitration Act 1996 guided by the Civil Procedure rules.
It aims to avoid some of the inefficiencies and high costs related to civil litigation: parties can lodge applications online and submit all documents through e-filing; cases are arbitrated by specialist QCs with substantial personal injury experience and the process can be undertaken in solicitors’ offices and at fixed costs. The service has the advantage of not requiring costs budgeting or case management conferences.
Esteemed personal injury silks Robert Glancy QC and Rob Weir QC joined PIcARBS as arbitrators today, bringing the total number of arbitrators to 16.
