Settlement for teacher lucky to be alive after her car was crushed between two HGVs
Rob Hunter acted for Katie Holt, a Colchester teacher whose car was crushed beyond recognition between two lorries on her way to work.
At the scene, bystanders were initially unaware that Katie’s car was trapped because it had been forced into such a tight space. The 39-year-Claimant was cut from the wreckage and airlifted to Royal London Hospital, where she was found to be suffering from a brain injury together with damage to her optic nerve, skull fractures, a broken left arm and fractures to her back. Katie’s claim was settled around the birth of her first child in June. Her compensation will allow her to access the treatment to continue her recovery.
Rob Hunter was instructed by Laura Murphy of Irwin Mitchell.
